The Pantry

Kitchen Essentials

You can't cook without a well-stocked pantry. Missing a key ingredient means lost time and frustration. And nobody wants to run to the store three times in one day just pick up a missing seasoning or spice.

To save you a bit of time, I’ve selected some essential items to keep on hand at home in your kitchen pantry. Owning these means you can start up a project on a whim and not have to think about whether you have the right flour to make pasta or the right spice to brine a ham.

I’ve organized pantry and grocery items into three main categories as follows:

  • Dry Goods - grains, yeasts, flours, sugars and more to assist you in your culinary endeavors
  • Meat - some of the best meats available online to provide you a basis for your charcuterie and dry curing projects
  • Spices and More - essential spices, herbs, seasonings and oils that you’ll need in your kitchen

Buy one or two things or just select them all if you are starting out your kitchen and want to stock it up. You can’t go wrong with this selection whether you are a new home cook or an experienced culinary aficionado.
